Traffic Group Australia is seeking a motivated Traffic Management Designer (TMD) or developing Traffic Planner to join our growing in-house Planning team.

This role is ideal for someone with Traffic Management planning experience who is looking to further develop their skills in Traffic Management Design. Whether you are already working as a TMD or currently in a Traffic Planning role looking to transition into a qualified TMD position, we offer ongoing support, mentoring, and development opportunities to help you grow.

Working alongside an experienced Planning team, you will assist in the preparation and coordination of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS), permits, and approvals while continuing to build your skills and experience.

About Our Traffic Operations

Our Traffic Management operations span across Adelaide, outer metropolitan, and regional South Australia. We support a strong and loyal client base across major infrastructure projects, local councils, civil construction, and events.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and assist in developing Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, and company procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the Planning team to deliver project outcomes and meet deadlines
  • Assist with risk assessments and hazard identification to support safe project delivery
  • Liaise with councils, DIT, clients, and relevant stakeholders regarding approvals and project requirements
  • Apply for permits and assist with permit tracking, extensions, and documentation
  • Support communication between Planning, Scheduling, Operations, and Management teams
  • Maintain accurate planning records and documentation
  • Respond to client enquiries and provide a high standard of customer service
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders

About You

We are looking for someone with practical Traffic Management planning experience who is eager to continue developing in the role.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in Traffic Management or Traffic Planning (essential)
  • Experience preparing or supporting planning activities, scheduling, permits, or traffic documentation
  • Current WZTM and OHS Construction White Card (essential)
  • Current Driver’s Licence (essential)
  • Experience using RAPIDPLAN (essential) and/or TRAFFIO (desirable)
  • Knowledge of AS 1742.3, AGTTM, and relevant Codes of Practice, or a willingness to further develop this knowledge
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and general systems confidence
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
